Sir Frank Macfarlane Burnet



Burnet, Sir Frank Macfarlane (1899–1985), Australian physician and virologist. He shared the 1970 Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine with P.B. Medawar for the suggestion that the ability of organisms to form antibodies in response to foreign tissues was acquired and not inborn.
