Brussels griffon



Brussels griffon, breed of toy dog developed in 19th-century Belgium. The Brussels griffon may be reddish brown, black, or a combination of the two. It comes in two varieties, one rough and wiry and the other, called Brabançon, having a smooth coat. Standing about 10–12 in (25–30 cm) and weighing 8–10 lb (3.6–4.5 kg), it is noted for its intelligent and affectionate nature.
