Bruegel

Bruegel, family of Flemish painters. Pieter Bruegel the Elder (c.1525–69) was a great painter of landscapes and allegories: Peasant Wedding, Fall of Icarus. Influenced by Bosch (The Fall of the Rebel Angels), his works are profoundly marked by his views of the human condition. Pieter Bruegel the Younger (1564–1637), also called Hell Bruegel, worked in his father's manner, often with an emphasis on the grotesque. Jan Bruegel (1568–1625), also called Velvet Bruegel, the second son, painted landscapes and still lifes with great subtlety and delicacy. He often collaborated with Rubens.
