Brown thrasher

Brown thrasher (Toxostoma rufum), bird of the mockingbird family (Mimidae), of the eastern United States and Canada. It is about 11.5 in (29 cm) long, with red-brown head and back, white-and-brown striped breast, long tail, and yellow eyes. The thrasher lives in brush and shrubs and eats insects. Its musical song, like the mockingbird's, resembles that of a variety of other birds.
