Bran

Bran, husk of cereal grains (e.g., wheat, rye, or corn), removed from the flour during milling. Bran is ground and used as cattle fodder and is also mixed with cereals and other foods for human consumption, to add roughage and some nutritional elements to the diet. Certain bran extracts are also used in cleaning and dyeing compounds.
