Anne Boleyn

Boleyn, Anne (1507–36), second wife of Henry VIII and mother of Elizabeth I. Henry's first queen, Catherine of Aragon, had failed to produce a son, and he divorced her to marry Anne in 1533. Elizabeth was born later that year, but Anne bore no living son either. She was beheaded after being convicted of dubious charges of adultery and incest.
