Boa constrictor



Boa constrictor (Constrictor constrictor), nonpoisonous snake of the family Boidae (which includes pythons and anacondas), mostly found in the tropics of the Americas. The live-bearing boa constrictor, 10–18 ft (3–5 m) in length, suffocates its prey (birds and mammals) by squeezing.
