Konrad Emil Bloch



Bloch, Konrad Emil (1912– ), U.S. biochemist. His studies of animal cells resulted in the discovery of cholesterol, a fatty substance produced from acetic acid. In 1964 he shared the Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine.
