Eric Bentley



Bentley, Eric (1916– ), British-born U.S. drama critic and university professor. He wrote The Playwright as Thinker (1946) and What Is Theatre? (1956). Through his translations and theater work he introduced Brecht's and Pirandello's plays to the English-speaking world.
