Edward Bellamy



Bellamy, Edward (1850–98), U.S. author. His Utopian Looking Backward 2000–1877 (1888) pictured a benevolent state socialism with worker-ownership and made him famous. His other novels include Miss Ludington's Sister (1884) and Equality (1897), a sequel to Looking Backward.
