Beggar-tick

Beggar-tick, or stick-tight, flowering plant of genus Bidens of the composite family, named for the hairy, barbed seeds of its yellow flowers, which adhere to clothing or animal fur. The name is often applied to the tick trefoil, a plant of a different family (Leguminosae) but with similar barbed seeds.
