Francis Beaumont



Beaumont, Francis (1584–1616), English Jacobean playwright. He is best known for his collaborations with John Fletcher, although Beaumont is probably the sole author of The Woman Hater (1607) and The Knight of the Burning Pestle (1607?). Beaumont and Fletcher's works include Philaster (1608), The Maid's Tragedy (1609), and A King and No King (1611).
