Moose



Moose, large, long-legged mammal (genus Alces) of the deer family, native to cold climates. The species A. alces, found in Europe, is called an elk. The males have large, palmate antlers, as wide as 7 ft (2 m) across. Often living near water, the moose feeds on aquatic plants and bushes and mature trees.
