Monkey flower

Monkey flower, name of large group of herbs and shrubs (genus Mimulus) in the figwort family. Found mostly on the western coast of North America in wet areas, these plants grow to a height of 6 to 36 in (15 to 91 cm). The spots on their petals give the impression of a monkey.
