Monera

Monera, group of primitive one-celled organisms that have no nucleus. Scientists place monera in the Monera kingdom or in the plant or protist kingdom. Bacteria and blue-green algae comprise the group's single division. Monera, found throughout the world, live in soil (parasitic species live in organisms) and are able to survive the extreme temperatures of hot springs and frozen tundra.
