Minneapolis



Minneapolis (pop. 362,700), largest city of Minnesota and seat of Hennepin County, on the upper Mississippi River, contiguous to its twin city, St. Paul. Minneapolis is a manufacturing, trading, and financial center noted for its many large flour mills and grain elevators. Its products include farm machinery, electronic equipment, linseed oil, paint, precision instruments, and furniture. Site of the University of Minnesota, the city also has an institute of art, a symphony orchestra, and a repertory theater.
