C(harles) Wright Mills



Mills, C(harles) Wright (1916–62), U.S. sociologist and critic of U.S. capitalism and militarism whose work was influential with radical social scientists of the 1970s. His books include White Collar (1951), The Power Elite (1956), and The Sociological Imagination (1959), which argues that sociologists should not be passive observers but agents of social change.
