Arthur Meighen



Meighen, Arthur (1874–1960), 2-term Canadian prime minister. Elected to the Canadian House of Commons in 1908, Meighen, a Conservative, held 3 Cabinet posts under Prime Minister Sir Robert Borden. Following Borden's retirement in 1920, Meighen took office on July 10. On Dec. 29, 1921, he was replaced by William Lyon Mackenzie King. He won a second term as prime minister in 1926, serving from June 29 to Sept. 25 and was replaced by King again.
