Cyrus Hall McCormick



McCormick, Cyrus Hall (1809–84), U.S. inventor and industrialist. He invented (1831) an early mechanical reaper (patented 1934) that contained innovations used commonly in harvesting machines. The first models appeared under license from 1841 onward.
