Mandrill



Mandrill, colorful monkey (Mandrillus sphinx) of central West Africa. Mandrills are jungle dwellers that move about on the ground and through trees and they feed on fruits and insects. They resemble baboons and may weigh up to 90 lb (40 kg). The males are brightly colored with blue, purple, yellow, and red faces and rumps and can protect groups of up to 150 against predators.
