Malé

Malé (pop. 55,100), port and capital city of the Republic of Maldives, or Mal dive Islands, in the Indian Ocean. Located on the island of the same name in this South Pacific atoll, Malé's main products are fish and tropical fruits and vegetables. Islam is the religion of its people, and Muslim mosques make Malé an important tourist site.
