Magnetic equator

Magnetic equator, also called the aclinic line, imaginary line around the earth where the magnetic pull of the 2 poles is equal. In theory, the earth is a magnet with poles that are magnetized in the north (Bathurst Island, Canada) and south (Wilkes Land, Antarctica). A metal object placed on the magnetic equator, near the geographic equator, will not be inclined north or south.
