Madroña



Madroña, shrub or tree (Arbutus menziesii) in the heath family. Commonly found on the west coast of the United States and Canada, this species also called laurelwood, grows to about 75 ft (23 m), has cinnamon-colored peeling bark, thick evergreen leaves, tall white flowers, and red berrylike fruit. The tree is used for decorative purposes.
