Mackerel



Mackerel, commercially important food fish of the family Scombridae. Mackerel have small scales, deeply forked tails, and rows of finlets on the rear part of their streamlined bodies. Known as fast swimmers, the species includes the tuna (the largest, up to .75 ton/680 kg), albacore, and bonito.
