Lucretius

Lucretius (c.99-c.55 B.C.), Roman poet and philosopher. He was the author of De rerum natura (“On the nature of things”) and the last classical exponent of atomism, a belief that everything is made up of atoms controlled by the laws of nature. Considered antireligious in his time, many of his theories were later validated.
