Malcolm Lowry



Lowry, Malcolm (1909–57), English novelist. His greatest work, Under the Volcano (1947), was concerned in part with alcoholism, which eventually proved fatal to the author. A reworking of hisfirst novel, Ultramarine (1933), and two volumes of short stories were published posthumously.
