Mary Todd Lincoln

Lincoln, Mary Todd (1818–1882), wife of U.S. president Abraham Lincoln from 1842 until his death. Her snobbish manner made her an unpopular first lady. In addition, because she was from the South and had relatives serving in the Confederate Army, she was regarded with suspicion during the Civil War.
