Lotte Lenya



Lenya, Lotte (1900–81), Austrian-born U.S. singer and actress. She performed on the stage in Berlin (1920–33), notably in The Three-Penny Opera (1928), composed by her husband, Kurt Weill, in collaboration with Brecht. She sang and acted in several Weill works, including Mahogonny and Cabaret, in the United States after 1933.
