Larceny



Larceny, in law, the unlawful removal of the property of another person without the owner's consent and with intent to steal. Grand larceny, a felony, is generally the theft of valuable property, while petty larceny, usually a misdemeanor, involves less valuable goods. Embezzlement, robbery, and fraud are generally considered larceny.
