Lake Tana



Lake Tana, major water source for the Blue Nile River, located in northwestern Ethiopia. Its blue color comes from the lake's silt-free water. It is 47 mi (76 km) long and 44 mi (71 km) wide, and lies 6,000 ft (1,800 m) above sea level.
