Kyanite

Kyanite, or cyanite, blue or white aluminum silicate mineral found in metamorphic rocks, occurring as long crystal blades. Because it is heat resistant, kyanite is used in spark plugs and as lining for ovens used in the manufacture of glass. Some kyanite is used for jewelry. It is found in the United States, India, Italy and the former USSR.
