Kumquat



Kumquat, dwarf evergreen (genus Fortunella) belonging to the rue family, grown for its citrus fruits, which resemble small oranges. The kumquat tree measures from 10 to 15 ft (3 to 5 m); it is grown in China, Japan, and in warm regions of the United States such as Florida and California. The fruits are eaten whole or in preserves.
