Kumiss

Kumiss, koumis, kumys, or koumyss, alcoholic milk beverage of Asian origin. Primarily a product of the former USSR, it is traditionally made from mare's or camel's milk. This thick, sour, effervescent drink was at one time used for treating tuberculosis in sanitoriums.
