Sandy Koufax



Koufax, Sandy (1935– ), U.S. baseball player. Koufax is considered one of the best left-handed pitchers of all time. His achievements include winning 3 Cy Young awards (1963, 65, 66), the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award (1963), striking-out 382 batters in one season (1965), and pitching 4 no-hit games. Koufax pitched with the Brooklyn and (later) Los Angeles Dodgers (1955–66). In 1972 he was inducted into the National Hall of Fame.
