Alfred A. Knopf
Knopf, Alfred A. (1892–1984), U.S. publisher. He founded Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. (1915), a prestigious publishing house with many Nobel Prize-winning authors. Random House acquired the company in 1960, but the imprint remains.
