Heinrich von Kleist



Kleist, Heinrich von (1777–1811), German dramatist and writer of novellas, known for his power and psychological insight. His works include the plays Penthesilea (1808) and Prince Friedrich von Homburg (1821) and the novels Michael Kohlhaas (1808) and The Marquise of O (1810–11).
