Jeane Jordan Kirkpatrick



Kirkpatrick, Jeane Jordan (1926– ), U.S. ambassador to the United Nations (1981–85). A professor of political science at Georgetown University, she was a charter member of the conservative Coalition for a Democratic Majority, advocating a tougher U.S. foreign policy. After leaving her UN post she joined the Republican Party and was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve on the National Commission on Space and the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.
