Killer whale



Killer whale (Orcinus orca), small, toothed, carnivorous whale of the dolphin family, but lacking a beak. Voracious predators, killer whales eat dolphins, porpoises, seals, and fish. They may hunt in small groups or form packs of 40 or more, driving their prey into shallow water where escape is impossible. Their average length is about 20 ft (6 m), and they are found worldwide.
