Kikuyu

Kikuyu, agricultural Bantu-speaking tribe, one of the largest groups (about 2 million) in Kenya, living north of Nairobi. Racial and tribal tensions led to the formation of the Mau Mau, a secret terrorist Kikuyu group involved in a nationalist uprising against European colonists in the late 1940s and 1950s.
