George Frost Kennan



Kennan, George Frost (1904– ), U.S. diplomat, one of the main authors of the U.S. postwar policy of “containment” of Russian expansionism. He served as ambassador to the USSR (1952) and Yugoslavia (1961–63). His books include Russia Leaves the War (1956) and Memoirs, 1925–1950 (1967), both Pulitzer Prize winners.
