Nikos Kazantzakis



Kazantzakis, Nikos (1883–1957), Greek writer and statesman. He served as minister of public welfare (1919–27) and minister of state (1945–46). Among his best-known works are the novels The Greek Passion (1938) and Zorba the Greek (1946) and his epic poem The Odyssey: A Modern Sequel (1938).
