Kansa

Kansa, also known as Kaw or Kansas, Native American tribe of eastern Kansas. This agricultural and hunting plains tribe, for whom the state of Kansas was named, lived along the Kansas River until their lands were taken by the U.S. government (1873) and they were moved to a reservation in Oklahoma. Decimated by disease, very few Kansa survive today.
