Lev Borisovich Kamenev



Kamenev, Lev Borisovich (1883–1936), Russian Bolshevik leader, active in the Russian Revolution and member of the first politburo of the Communist party. After Lenin's death (1924) he joined Stalin and Zi-noviev to defeat Trotsky's bid for power. However, Stalin ousted Kamenev and Zinoviev in 1925 and they joined Trotsky's opposition movement. In 1936, Stalin had both Kamenev and Zinoviev arrested and executed for treason.
