Iberian Peninsula

Iberian Peninsula, landmass in southwestern Europe, occupied by Spain and Portugal. It is mostly surrounded by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea (east) and the Atlantic Ocean (west) and separated from North Africa by the Strait of Gibraltar. The Pyrenees Mountains to the north form a natural barrier between the peninsula and the rest of Europe.
