Honey locust



Honey locust, any of several trees (genus Gleditsia) of the pea family. Often used for its shade and ornamentation, the honey locust is commonly found in the eastern United States. It has large flat pods whose pulp cattle eat. Its wood is often used for railroad ties, fence posts, or fuel.
