Heinrich Himmler



Himmler, Heinrich (1900–45), German Nazi leader. A founder of the Nazi party, head of the SS from 1929 and of the Gestapo from 1936, he was responsible for the murder of millions in concentration camps. Named interior minister in 1943, he became the main leader of Germany's internal affairs. He was captured by the British army in 1945 and committed suicide.
