Edouard Herriot



Herriot, Edouard (1872–1957), French politician. As leader of the Radical Socialists Herriot was elected premier of France 3 times (1924–25 and 1932). In 1942 he was imprisoned by the Germans for opposition to the Vichy government. He later became president of the National Assembly (1947–54).
