Heliotrope

Heliotrope, fragrant plant (genus Heliotropium) once popular in gardens. Its name, made up of the Greek words for sun and turn, points to the fact that it always turns its flowers and leaves to face the sun. The cultivated heliotropes come mainly from Peru and Ecuador, but there are a few North American species.
