Heidelberg man



Heidelberg man, prehistoric human thought to have lived over 300,000 years ago. Evidenced only by the discovery of a huge jaw found in 1907 near Heidelberg, Germany, Heidelberg man is a European example of Homo erectus. Scientists believe Heidelberg man lived by hunting and probably fashioned tools out of stone.
