Halley's Comet



Halley's Comet, first periodic comet to be identified (by Edmund Halley) and the brightest of all recurring comets. It has a period of about 76 years. Records exist for every appearance of the comet since 240 B.C., except that of 163 B.C. The comet's most recent reappearance was in 1986.
